Philanthropy

Philanthropy is extremely important to Professor Kmeir and can take many forms. Philanthropy encapsulates acts that prevent or solve social problems and can drive lasting, positive changes, touching many lives, possibly for generations. It can take the form of a one-off donation or long-term giving.

Construction and Facilities Management

There are several steps in the construction process, starting with the preconstruction phase, where the client works with the contractor and design team to develop the project plan. After this comes the design and permitting stage, the building construction phase, and, finally, the post-construction stage. The latter includes completing the punch list items and the walkthrough to confirm the project’s specifications have been met.

Facilities management is an essential element of all organizations and is about ensuring that environments and buildings operate efficiently and smoothly. Its functions encompass a range of activities, including optimization, maintenance, planning for future growth, and supporting occupants.

Sofregaz

Sofregaz, a company acquired by GET Group, was established in 1959 and is a leading independent engineering business. To date, it has successfully completed over 1,300 projects in 95 countries. Sofregaz is committed to providing energy solutions including gas treatment installations and pipelines, natural gas from compression stations, LNG for import and export terminals, and those from emerging frontiers.

Environmental Engineering

The professional engineering discipline environmental engineering encompasses broad scientific topics such as biology, chemistry, geology, ecology, hydrology, hydraulics, mathematics, and microbiology. It aims to create solutions to enhance the quality of the environment and improve and protect the health of living organisms. This type of engineering applies engineering and scientific principles to maintain and improve the environment to protect natural ecosystems and human health.

Environmental engineers devise solutions for water and air pollution control, wastewater management, waste disposal, public health, and recycling. They also come up with solutions to improve sanitation in urban, rural, and recreational areas and design industrial wastewater treatment and municipal water supply systems.
